August 20th, 2018 - Oslo
Today marks the beginning of the recording of my first solo album.
It's been a long process just to get here, sifting through 30+ years of demos and music notation. I even had to refurbish my old Tascam 244 PORTASTUDIO to get all demos and ideas transferred over to a digital format. But, finally we are ready to begin recording it all.
I'm basically recording a selection of my unreleased music spanning the past 30+ years. The music is mostly instrumental and leans heavily towards bluesy hard rock. It is highly original, but contains clear references to my main influences; Eddie Van Halen, Malcolm Young, Angus Young, Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, Peter Green, David Gilmour, Black Sabbath, Steve Vai and Joe Satriani.
So far, I've selected (and demo-recorded) 45 tracks of all the music I composed between 1985 and 2018. When these tracks are recorded, I'll pick 33 that will be released. They will be released as a trilogy, with eleven tracks on each album. No release date has been set, as of yet.
To be continued...
